About Sylken
It started with a shelf full of half-used bottles...
Like many people, I spent a lot of time and money chasing my "holy-grail" routines. I struggled with frizzy hair, constant scalp irritation, and the endless search for a sunscreen that didn't leave a ghostly white cast on my face. I was doing all the research. I spent countless hours watching YouTube videos, following social media experts, reading articles, and sifting through thousands of product reviews. But despite all that effort, I was still stuck in a cycle of expensive guesswork. Eventually, I realized that my frustration was caused by two core obstacles that research alone could never fix.
The Details Always Fade
One of my biggest obstacles was never the products. It was my memory. I could never remember what worked. Our brains are not built to be objective historians of our skincare and haircare routines. When you are standing in a store, it is nearly impossible to remember if the conditioner you used two months ago actually worked better than the one in your shower today.
It is hard to be honest about results when you forget the details of how a product felt or why you stopped using it in the first place. Was Product A actually better than Product B? Was that expensive serum truly good, or was it just "better" compared to the last one? Without a record, you are forced to rely on hazy memories. Which leads to repeating the same expensive mistakes over and over again.
Wading Through a Sea of Hype
The beauty industry is massive and growing every day. We are flooded with marketing hype, influencer promotions, and "magic" claims that rarely live up to the promise.
Filtering through product reviews is often frustrating, because for every person who loves a product another warns you to stay away. Skin and hair concerns are deeply personal. Your unique combination of allergies, skin type, and hair texture makes your needs different from everyone else's.
Finding objective advice shouldn't feel like a full-time job. Information overload and decision paralysis often make it impossible to find people who actually share your specific struggles.
The Birth of Sylken
Sylken was born from the need for a better way to research and track progress. It is a place where your data matters more than marketing, and where your own progress photos tell the real story.
I believe that your history, paired with community insights, is the most powerful tool you have to break the "buy-and-regret" cycle for good.
Sylken is more than just a logbook; it's an evolving personal assistant. I'm building a tool that learns from your history to cut through the noise and help you finally master your unique rituals.
Because you deserve an assistant as obsessed with your results as you are.
